Roland Jimmy-Ray Rond, 59, of Porter, TX, (formally of Natchitoches, LA.) died Thursday, February 15, 2007, at the Memorial Herman Northeast Hospital in Humble, Texas. Roland was a very caring and compassionate person and never met a stranger. He was a jack of all trades, and could build or repair anything that he set his mind to. He was a member of the Porter United Pentecostal Church in Porter, TX. He was a loving father and grandfather and will never will be forgotten by the ones that he loved.
He was preceded in death by his parents, J. R. Rond and Willie Mae (Jordan) Rond, his daughter, Tamara Rond, his sister Ola-Dean Barbo and her children, and two brothers Charles and Danny Rond.
He is survived by his wife Debbie Rond of Porter, TX; two daughters, Brandy Rond and Kaitlyn Rond of Porter, TX; two sons, Kevin Rond and Carl Lavonne Rond of Humble, TX; two step-sons, James and Josh Howard of Porter, TX; sixteen grandchildren; two sisters, Rita Carpenter and husband Raymond of Natchitoches, LA and Audrey Oxley and husband Dan of Sulphur, LA; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Arrangements are being handled by Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home, Natchitoches, La., where the family will receive friends from 5:00 to 9:00 Friday, February 16, 2007. The funeral service will be at Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home at 1:00 PM Saturday, February 17, 2007 , with Rev. James Whitehead and Rev. Tommy Smith officiating.
