Vera Mae Mason Watkins

Funeral service for Vera Mae Mason Watkins will be held 1 PM Monday, February 26, 2007 in Blanchard St. Denis Chapel with Rev. Craig Beeman and Rev. Jimmy Evans officiating. Burial will be in Fern Park Cemetery at Natchitoches, LA. Visitation will be Sunday, February 25, 2007 from 5 PM until 9 PM and on Monday, February 26, 2007 from 8 AM until service time in the funeral home. Mrs. Watkins, 77, of Natchitoches, LA., died Friday, February 23, 2007, at Sabine Medical Center in Many, LA. She was a native of Birmingham, AL. She was a homemaker and a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by two sons, James Edward Watkins, Jr. and Bruce Wayne Watkins; parents, Waymon Mason Sr. and Eva Goolsby Mason. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, James Edward Watkins, Sr. of Natchitoches, LA; one daughter, Katherine Alexander and husband Mark of Mount Pleasant, TX; one son, Richard A. Watkins, Sr. and wife Brenda of Natchitoches, LA; one sister, Sister-Marilyn Lawrence of Burlington, IA; one brother, Waymon 'Dud' Mason, Jr. Cantoonment, FL; twelve grandchildren, thirty great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren Pallbearers will be Mark Alexander, Richard Watkins, Sr., Richard Watkins, Jr., Bubba Watkins, Jason Watkins, Michael Watkins, and Robbie Watkins.
