Funeral services for Russell W. Bretthauer, Sr. of Natchitoches, Louisiana will be at 10:00am Monday, February 26, 2007 at the Immaculate Conception Church in Natchitoches with Rev. Stephen Scott Chemino officiating. Interment will follow at Fern Park Cemetery.
Mr. Bretthauer, age 85, passed away at his home in Natchitoches on Friday, February 23, 2007. Born July 18, 1921 in Yorkville, Illinois, he was a World War II veteran, a former barber and retired employee of the City of Natchitoches. He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife Bertha LaCaze Bretthauer and parents William E. Bretthauer and Gertrude Reingartt Bretthauer, of Yorkville, Illinois.
He is survived by one daughter, Linda Bretthauer Vienne and husband Charles, Sr. of Natchitoches; one son, Russell W. Bretthauer, Jr. and wife Karen, of Delaplane, VA; one sister, Arlene Reinboldt of Yorkville, Illinois; three grandchildren, Charles D. Vienne, Jr and wife Kristy of Huntsville, Texas; William Scott Vienne and wife Debbie of Natchitoches; Lisa Vienne Johnson and husband Aaron Johnson of Chesapeake, VA; three great grandchildren, Hunter Cade Vienne and Austin Scott Vienne, of Natchitoches; and Jensen Elizabeth Vienne of Huntsville, Texas.
Pallbearers will be Charles Vienne, Jr, Scott Vienne, Ronald Baker, Joe Sampite, Clyde LaCaze, and David Walker.
Honorary pallbearers will be Baily Thaxton, Alton Cooper, and Horace Solice.
