Genevieve Collins

Genevieve Moreland Collins, 88, of Natchitoches, LA, died Thursday, March 8, 2007, at the hospital in Natchitoches, LA. Genevieve was a lifetime member of First United Methodist Church where she was active in the choir and played the piano during Sunday school. She loved to fish and bowl and was a member of Natchitoches Women’s Bowling Association. She was a loving mother and grandmother and will be remembered by those who’s lives she touched. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rhese Collins; her parents, Dr. William Moreland and Angie McCasland Moreland; one brother, W. Ben Moreland; and one sister, Ruth Moreland Sims. She is survived by her daughters, Dorothy Carney of Natchitoches, LA and Catherine Selinka of Pensacola, FL; one brother, Dr. James Moreland of Shreveport, LA, four grandchildren, Debbie Crowder and husband Steve of Natchitoches, LA, Johnny Carney Jr. and wife Sharon of Natchitoches, LA, Lynne Dunbar of Pensacola, FL, and Ellen Couture and husband Ronnie of Cantonment, FL; six great-grandchildren, Eryn and Derek Maggio of Natchitoches, Johnny Carney III and James Carney of Natchitoches, and Alyshia and Garrett Couture of Pensacola, FL. Arrangements are being handled by Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches, LA, where the family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM Friday, March 9, 2007. The funeral service will be at the First United Methodist Church at 10:00 AM Saturday, March 10, 2007 , with Rev. Jacqueline Collins officiating. Interment will be at Memory Lawn Cemetery in Natchitoches, LA.
