Albert Rickey Berry, better known as “Uncle Albert” 67, of Bridge City, Texas passed away May 19, 2019. He was born in Natchitoches, Louisiana on August 22, 1951, to the late Lester Berry and Georgia King Berry. Albert loved his family more than anything, Albert loved the outdoors, hunting, “fishing and loving every day”, runnin’ dogs, and partaking in a few cold ones, his favorite was Crown Royal and Moonshine. In his free time he loved to watch black and white westerns and soap operas, Gunsmoke was his favorite. Even though he lived in Texas he found great joy in coming back home to Robeline to visit family and friends. Those left to cherish Albert’s memory are his step-son, James Dennis Lavergne and his wife, Denice of Hampshire, brothers, Joseph Berry of Robeline, LA, and James Berry and his wife, Deborah of Robeline, LA; his sisters, Elouise Weeks and her husband, Sonny of Robeline, LA and Nancy Gibson of Marthaville, LA; his niece, who was like a daughter to him, Patty Weeks and her husband, Michael and their daughter, who was more like a sister, Alaina Weeks of Robeline, LA; his step-grandchild, Jami Denice; his step-great-grandchildren, Colton Lavergne and Grainger Hale; also he is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and many close friends. He is also survived by a very dear friend ”his buddy”, Robert Holly who he thought of as his brother, Robert would do anything for Albert. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 24 years, Norma Jean Johnson Berry, 2 brothers, and 6 sisters. A memorial service to honor Albert’s life will be held at Blanchard- St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches, LA the family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 22, 2019, with Bro. Chris Birdwell officiating. He was loved by all who knew him and will be dearly missed.
