A service to honor the life of Alvie Dewain Johnson, Jr. will be held at 10 am on Tuesday, April 6, 2021, in the chapel of Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Bay Springs in Chopin, LA. The family will receive friends from 5 pm until 9 pm on Monday, April 5th at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home. Alvie, 46 years of age, passed away on Friday April 1st with his family by his side. He was born on June 1, 1974 to Vickie Michelle Owens and Alive Dewain Johnson, Sr. in Ada, OK. He was preceded in death by his mother and step mother, Vivian Ann DeRamus Johnson. Alvie was a hardworker and was a traveling pipe fitter by trade. In his spare time, he enjoyed the outdoors especially hunting and fishing. He enjoyed cooking for family and friends and was particularly gifted at boiling crawfish. He was very proud of his native heritage being a member of the Chickasaw Nation. He left us way too early but he will forever be in our hearts. He is survived by his father, Alvie Johnson, Sr.; his wife and best friend, Miranda Setliff; his cherished daughter, Raven Johnson; brothers, Eddie Deramus and wife Denise and their children DeVine and Hailey, John Johnson and wife Kristi and their children Ian, Zoe, and Destiny; and sisters, April Werner and husband Ryan and their children Erin, Ava, and Samuel, Shawnda Russell and her daughter Ashley. Those honored to serve as pallbearers include Jeremiah Edwards, Chris Cagle, Ryan Beebe, Larry Ferguson, DeVine DeRamus and Eddie DeRamus. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Joni Edwards for the care and compassion she showed to Alvie during such a difficult time.
