Andrew Michael Halko Jr.

Andrew Michael Halko Jr. died at Christus Highland Hospital in Shreveport, La on February 21, 2024, at 11:45 p.m. at 90 years and 7 months old. He was born in Ohio to his parents Andrew M. Halko and Elizabeth Sopko Halko on August 2, 1933. He had a sister Geraldine Halko Caranci (deceased) and a brother Larry Halko of Painesville, Ohio.

Andrew was in Army, and he was in the war in Korea from 1950 until 1953. He was stationed at Fort Polk. He was a very loving talking person and a jack of all trades. Roofing, siding, a carpenter, a welder, and a gardener. Andrew was married to O'Mather Fredieu Halko (deceased) until 1959, she passed away due to a train accident. Together they had 3 children, O'Mather Halko Lummus (John), Mary Halko Butts (Eddie), and Andrew Michael Halko III (Alice), (deceased).  Grandchildren Kiley Lummus ( Brad ), Trent Jackson (Chelsea), Terra Jackson Newcomb (Shane), Candy Halko, Michelle Halko, and Andrew Michael Halko 4th ( deceased), great grandchildren: Jackson Newcomb, Braden Jackson , Conner Jackson , Alayna Jackson , Maren Jackson , Sophia Harrington , Alyssa Halko daughter.

Karen Sue Middleton was his partner, best friend, and love since October 3, 1987, they were together for 36 years and 5 months. Her daughter Jeannine Middleton Teague Allen (Bob) grandchildren Jennifer Teague Houck (Chris) and Rusty Teague (Rebecca), and great grandchildren Walker Teague and Wesley Teague. They raised 2 grandchildren as their own Daisey hope Halko and Emily Rose Halko for 23 years. Karens sister is Rosilyn Salisbury Simmons (Richard). Andrew was cremated and his ashes are buried at Weaver Cemetery in Flora.

The family will have a memorial at a later date
