Andy Wayne Airhart entered the world on October 6, 1943 to the late Ulysses Samuel Airhart and Aurelia Kerry Airhart of Cloutierville, Louisiana. He was the first and only love of his wife of 50 years, Candis Sewell Airhart. He was well-known for his love of his children, grandchildren, siblings, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family members. Andy had a great love for all things automotive. He was FOREVER an automotive and diesel mechanic. He had a great love for his customers, students and grease! Throughout his career as an automotive and diesel mechanic many were blessed to be able to work alongside him. From his beginnings at the People’s Motor Company and Lowery Chevrolet, to establishing his own company: CAR CLINIC, all the way until retirement after twenty years as an automotive instructor at the Natchitoches Technical Campus, he proceeded to continue his love for mechanics. After retirement, he continued working for twelve more years as a diesel and hydraulics mechanic at the Valley Electric Co-Op (SwepCo). Upon full retirement, he enjoyed spending time with all his pups, rescuing animals of any kind, yard work, building his BBQ shed and tinkering in his work shop. Andy Wayne’s love of mechanics was surpassed only by his love for his family. His most cherished times were when entertaining his beloved grandchildren: Hallee, Nate, Camryn and Tristin. Andy Wayne was a prankster at heart and shared tons of jokes and laughs with so many family members and friends! Although he was a prankster, Andy also had the faith of a mustard seed and believed in God the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. He was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church and loved Father John dearly. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Candis Airhart, children David Airhart (Lisa Shaw Airhart) of Montgomery, Louisiana and Andi Airhart Lazarus (Michael Lazarus) of Gulf Breeze, Florida, siblings Ambrose Airhart (Anna Smith Airhart) of Natchitoches, Louisiana and Sharon Airhart Tobin (Tom Tobin) of Arkadelphia, Arkansas, sister-in-law Melanie Airhart of Pineville, Louisiana, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Leah Sewell and Bill Gordy, grandchildren Hallee and Nate Airhart as well as Camryn and Tristin Lazarus, and a host of beloved nieces, nephews, and beloved friends.
