Barbara LaCour Rachal

A Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Barbara LaCour Rachal will be at 11 am on Thursday, July 13, 2023 at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Isle Brevelle, LA.  Entombment in the St. Augustine Catholic Cemetery Mausoleum will follow the Mass.  The family will receive friends from 9 am until 10:30 am at St. Augustine Catholic Church with recitation of the Holy Rosary to be held at 10:30 am.

Barbara, affectionately known as “Cookie”, passed away on July 6th with her family by her side.  She was born on November 16, 1944 to Alice Llorens LaCour and Percy LaCour. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 45 years, Joseph Lawrence Rachal; a grandson, Quentin Percy Allen Rachal; sisters, Shirley LaCour, and Alice “Sue” McConnell; and brothers, Don LaCour and Bobby LaCour.

She is survived by her sons, Douglas Rachal, Rodney Rachal and wife Denise, and Keith Rachal and wife Michele; close companion, Curtis “Junior” Balthazar; a sister, Joan Metoyer; a brother, Horace LaCour; grandchildren, Jessica A. Rachal, Ashley N. Rachal, Elizabeth A. Rachal, Christopher J. Rachal, Denis Joseph Rachal, Keith Rachal, Jr., Blade A. Rachal, Jasmine L. Rachal, Hailey J. Rachal, and Kaylee N. Rachal; great grandchildren, Savannah M. Rachal, Makayla N. Ray, Tyler J. Gardner, Carson J. Gardner, Logan E. Cychosz, Kaydence L. Danison and Kamille R. Danison.
