Benena Cox Pardue

A service to honor the life of Mrs. Benena Cox Pardue will be held at 3 pm on Sunday, August 21, 2022 at Blanchard St. Denis Funeral home with Rev. Bob Lane officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Methodist Cemetery in Natchitoches. The family will receive friends from 2 pm until 3 pm on Sunday the 21st at Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home. Benena, 94 yrs of age passed away Wednesday, August 17 in Natchitoches. She was born on June 24, 1928 to Ed and Alma Cox. She is proceeded in death by her parents, husband, Roy Pardue and a grandson Brent Craig. She is survived by her three children, Kayla Craig and husband Lloyd of Franklin TN, Darryl Pardue and wife Cindy of Natchitoches, LA, and Pamela Breedlove and husband Mike of Natchitoches, LA; seven grandchildren, Kevin Craig (Monica) of Shreveport, LA, Haley Steagall (Ernie) of Tulsa, OK, Cory Craig (Megan) of Brentwood, TN, Amber Pratt (Ted) of Brentwood, TN, Cody Pardue (Morgan) of Oklahoma City, OK, Casey Harris (Kevin) of Natchitoches, LA, and Kurt Breedlove of Natchitoches, LA; and 14 great grandchildren. Benena was co-owner and worked in the family grocery business for many years. She was very active in her church and held many positions of leadership over the years. She was a gifted seamstress and made many of her and her children's clothes throughout the years. Benena considered herself an ordinary woman yet was so extraordinary in many ways. The 100% devotion to all of her family trumped all. Those honored to serve as pall bearers are her grandsons, Hayden Craig, Landon Craig, Clayton Craig, Cody Pardue, Kevin Harris, Ernie Steagall, Kurt Breedlove and Grant Jones In lieu of flower, please make donations to either the Methodist Children's Home in Ruston, LA, or the Alzheimer's Association.
