Billy Drue Kay, age 76, went to be with the Lord on October 21, 2018, at his residence. He was born to Bud and Hazel Kay on August 11, 1942. Billy was a Provencal High School graduate and went to work in the construction business immediately after graduating. He made a lifelong career of building and remodeling homes. Billy enjoyed spending time with his family, especially all of his grandchildren. He loved to garden and each year he raised many vegetables to share with family and friends. He loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. Billy was preceded in death by his parents, Bud and Hazel Kay and brother Paul Kay. Billy is survived by his wife of 54 years, Nell Kay; 2 children, son Brian Kay and wife Kim Kay, daughter, Carla Salard and husband Paul Salard III; seven grandchildren, McKailey Salard, Josie Mollette and husband Ryan Mollette, McKenzie Salard, Wyatt Kay, Jessa Kay, Wiley Kay, and Janie Belle Kay; one great-grandchild, Margo Mollette. He is also survived by his sister Jean Clark and husband Billy Clark, brother Kenneth Kay and wife Nina Kay, sister Dorothy Burt and husband Jack Burt, sister Mildred Wall and husband Harold Wall, sister Mary Tucker and husband Robert Tucker, sister Rhonda Rachal and husband Bob Rachal; as well as a multitude of friends. Those honored to be pallbearers are Reggie Isgitt, Wayne Yates, James Stacy, Waymon Kay, Danny Kay, Joey Allen, Jeff Rachal and Lavelle Kay. Honorary pallbearers will be, Bob Miller, Marvin Bombek, and Randy Dupree. Service will be held at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home on Friday morning, October 26, 2018, at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at the Friendship Cemetery in Provencal, LA. A visitation will be held on Thursday evening, October 25, 2018, from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home.
