Blanche Bosley Nelms went to be with the Lord On Friday, March 23,2018 after a long battle with Alzheimers disease. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday, March 25, at Mars Hill Cemetery in Grant Parish. Officiating will be Bro. Al Van Dyke. Blanche was born October 25 ,1918 in Hall Summit, La. to Rev. and Mrs. R.W. Singleton. She was adopted by her aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. R. W. Bosley., as her mother died when she was 2 weeks old. She graduated from Coushatta High and attended La. College and a business school in Beaumont, Texas. Her first job was a secretary at Nelms Lumber Co. in Campti, Louisiana She met Everette Nelms there and they were married October 13, 1939. Before his death they had been married 65 years. They later moved to Montgomery, Louisiana. She worked as office manager for La. Power Light for many years. Blanche was an active member of First Baptist Church of Montgomery. She served as pianist and taught both Sunday School and Vacation Bible School. She was a former member of the Dar and Delta Kappa Gamma. Blanche and Everette traveled extensively through the United States and foreign countries, They did not visit two continents, namely Australia and Antartica. She rode an elephant in India and a mule down the Grand Canyon, She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Everette in 2004, four sisters, and her nephew John Nelms. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Nona Nelms Bobo, one niece Lisa Glasgow, three nephewsCharles Nelms, Robert Hilburn and William I. Bobo. She is also survived by several great nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Dr. Robert Hernandez, and the staff of The Oaks, especially Gwen and Mary, for their help and care for 14 years. We wuld also like to thank Laura, Bro Al, and Ernestine of LifePath Hospice for their care.Special thanks and deep appreciation to her sitters who provided loving care to Blanche, they include Diane Davis, Rowena Amersosn, Virginia Hamilton and others.
