Funeral services for Bobby Willis Broadway aka “Poppa” will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 15, 2025 at Provencal United Pentecostal Church with Bro. Paul Grace, Bro. David Broadway, and Bro. Brian Ray officiating, burial will follow in Provencal Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. on Monday, April 14, 2025 at the church.
Bobby was born on November 12, 1934 in Robeline, LA to Will and Alma Broadway. He passed away on Sunday, April 13, 2025 at the Courtyard in Natchitoches. He worked all of his life and has instilled hard work in all of his children. He worked endless hours at the gas station with J.C. LaCaze and the numerous years in the family owned logging business. Bobby was a very kind and compassionate man, he never met a stranger. In his later years he could be found hanging out at Wal-Mart with his friend, George Matthews. After that time he went to the Courtyard of Natchitoches, were he found his family there that all loved him dearly. He drank numerous cups of coffee from everyone there that would fix a cup for him.
He loved Jesus and “his” song I Can’t Even Walk without You Holding My Hand. Bobby was a resident of Provencal all of his life, as well as a member of Provencal United Pentecostal Church. He will be deeply missed by everyone that he met. If he met you, he loved you. If he loved you, he touched you. He was loved dearly by his wife Sudie until her passing in 1991 and was greeted by her, as well as two beloved grandchildren Terry Wayne (T-Man), Charlene (Deda), and son-in-law Charles Jones that he loved like his own.
Bobby is survived by his sons, Mike Broadway (Joy) and Randy Broadway (Jennifer); daughters, Carolyn Jones and Deb Broadway; grandchildren Michael Paul (Jennifer), David(aka Boo Boo) (Shasta), Bubba (Amanda), Ashley (Corey), Daniel (Katie), and Lacie (aka Lil Bit) (Ethen); step-grandchildren Logan (Tracy) and Kyle (Misti); 21 great grandchildren; 5th generation of 2 great great grandchildren; one sister Dottie Smith; and numerous other family and friends.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers will be Michael Broadway, Bubba Jones, Daniel Jones, Ethen Jones, Corey Eddington, Shane O’Bannon, Rickey Perot, and Chris Womack. Honorary pallbearers are Larry Horn, Larry Davis, Eddie O’Bannon, and Bubba Davis.
The family would to personally thank the Courtyard of Natchitoches for their love and kindness they gave Mr. Bobby over the last 2 ½ years, it will never be forgotten. To Mary Oxley, LaQuita Weston, and Linda Lindsey- thanks for taking care and loving our Daddy. Lastly, thank you to Hospice of Natchitoches for their love kindness shown during this time.
