Brother Kevin Taylor, born on October 8th, 1957, in Verdun, France, grew up in Kisatchie Falls and Provençal, excelling as a basketball player at Provencal High School. After joining the U.S. Air Force in 1975, he married Sharon Mitcham Taylor. Following his Air Force service, he worked for TransLa Gas for a decade.
Devoting 30 years to preaching, starting at Trinity Baptist Church as a song director, Kevin also cherished football, especially Saints and LSU games, and singing Christian music.
Brother Kevin was preceded in death by his mother, Yvonne June Taylor, his father James E Taylor Sr; brothers, James Jr and Kenneth Taylor, sister Yvonne K. Taylor, mother-in- law, Helen Mitcham, father-in-law, Eddie Mitcham, and brother-in-law, Rodney Mitcham.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon; children Kevin Jr. and wife Alaina, Nick, Todd and wife Angela; grandchildren Jordan, Brayden, Jesse, Ryan, Madelyn, Maci, and Nathan; brother Steven Taylor, brother-in-law Randy Mitcham and wife Susan, sister-in-law Janice Cross and husband Joe, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at Kisatchie Baptist Church beginning at 10 am, followed by service at 1 pm. The service will be officiated by Brother Milton Pray and Jeff Taylor. Burial will be held at Union Cemetery in Kisatchie will follow. Pallbearers include Brayden, Jesse, Ryan, Joel, Jared, and Brad Taylor, with Jordan and Michael Taylor as honorary pallbearers.
In memory of Brother Kevin Taylor, donations to the Louisiana Baptist Children's Home in Monroe, Louisiana, are welcomed in lieu of flowers.
