A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Carol Adkins Williams, 69, on Saturday, February 1, 2020, at 1 PM in the chapel of Blanchard-St Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches. Visitation will be observed at 11 AM until The Liturgy will be celebrated by her cousin and Godson, Rev. Michael Craig Scott of Alexandria. Carol was born on November 7, 1950, the only child of Margaret Ackel Adkins and James Thurmon Adkins. She died on January 26, 2020, at Methodist Hospital in Houston, TX. Carol graduated from St. Mary's School in 1968. While in elementary and high school, she participated in many activities and was the Tiger Mascot to the cheerleading squad and sang in the St. Mary's Choir. Following graduation, she attended Loyola University in New Orleans, majoring in art and graphic design. Carol worked in many different venues throughout her professional life, including Office Manager for dentist Dr. Steve Brown, Advertising Sales for The Natchitoches Times, and as a Sales Representative for CP-TEL. Her main role throughout the years was as daughter, wife, and mother. She was a sustaining member of the Natchitoches Service League. Carol will be remembered by family and friends as a trusted and loyal friend, a dedicated wife and mother, and one who enjoyed life. She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Adrian Drew Williams; her son, Adrian “Dee” Williams; and many cousins and friends. Honorary Pallbearers will be her cousins, William W. Ackel, John E. Ackel, Philip A. Ackel, and E. Whitcomb Scott; Dr. Steven Wheat, and Mickey Murphy. Interment will be under the direction of Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home at a later date.
