Cecil Boyer Stringer, 91, of Natchitoches, passed away on Thursday, March 14, 2019. He was born August 6, 1927, in Jena, Louisiana, to the union of his parents, Myrtle and Oliver Stringer. Cecil was a World War II veteran. After his discharge from the army, Cecil and his wife, June, moved from Jena in 1951 to Natchitoches. He started his own business as a candy salesman. He loved his work and his customers. He retired at age 85. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church and served as Deacon for many years. He was a good family man and loved the Lord. He will be missed by his family and many friends. Visitation will be held from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. on Monday, March 18, 2019, at Trinity Baptist Church located at 527 Howard Street in Natchitoches. Service will begin at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Memory Lawn Cemetery in Natchitoches under the direction of Blanchard-St Denis of Natchitoches. He was preceded in death by his father, Oliver Stringer; mother, Myrtle Stringer; brother, Irvin Stringer; sisters, Eunice Eubanks, Daisy Stringer; a son, Robert Stringer. Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, June, of 69 years; daughters, Karen Harkins, and husband Steve of Natchitoches; Suzanne Sheppard and husband, David, of Enterprise, Alabama; Mary Wright, and husband, Jock, of Wilton, Connecticut. His grandchildren, Erika Harkins, Cole, and Amy Harkins, Ragan and Kelly Manning, Jon and Carmella McCart, Anna Wright, Sam Wright, James Wright, Kyle, and Nicole Stringer. Six great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be David Sheppard, Steve Harkins, Britton Stringer, James C. Stringer, Cole Harkins, Kyle Stringer, and Jon McCart. The Stringer family would like to thank Hospice of Natchitoches for all their help during this difficult time.
