Cecile Monette

A Mass of Christian Burial for Ms. Cecile Monette will be celebrated at 1 pm on Tuesday, August 11, 2020, at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Natchitoches with Rev Marc Noel serving as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery in Cloutierville, LA. The family will receive friends from 5 pm until 8 pm on Monday, August 10th at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home. Cecile, 81 years of age and a resident of Natchitoches, passed away on August 8, 2020, with her family by her side. She was born on August 20, 1938 to McKinley Monette, Sr. and Julia Metoyer Monette in Cloutierville, LA. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Gladys Monette; and brothers, Stanley Monette, Sr., Leo Monette, and Willie Monette. She is survived by a sister, Mary Silva and her husband Robert; and brothers, Owen Monette, and McKinley Monette, Jr. and his wife Marie; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Cecile was a devout Catholic and true to her faith. She was a parishioner at Holy Cross Catholic Church and in her younger days at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Cloutierville. You could tell Cecile was a true Christian lady because she was loving, warm hearted and generous. She often gave even if it meant she did without. She was a beautiful lady with a warm smile and was loved by everyone who knew her. Eternal rest, grant unto Cecile, O Lord and let perpetual light shine upon her. May she rest in peace. Amen. May her soul and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace, Amen.
