Charles Edward "Buddy" Clemons

 A service to honor the life of Charles Edward (Buddy) Clemons, 84 yrs. old will be held at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches, Louisiana on Thursday, December 19, 2024, at 11 am with Bro. Mark Green officiating. Burial will follow at American Cemetery in Natchitoches, Louisiana. The family will receive friends from 9 am until the time of service at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home.

 Buddy was born in Shreveport, Louisiana on September 7, 1940 and went to be with his Lord and Savior on December 14, 2024 in his home surrounded by his family and friends. He was a life-time member of Clarence Baptist Church. He graduated from Natchitoches High School in 1958 and worked as a hired hand doing odd jobs at Farmer Stockman Livestock Auction barn in Clarence, Louisiana until 1963.

 He became a cattle foreman for Melvin Hall from 1963 until 1973 when Buddy became self-employed starting his own cattle operation. In 1970 he and Rayburn Smith purchased and operated Farmer Stockyard Auction in Clarence, Louisiana until 1980, when Buddy sold his part of the barn to Rayburn.

 He moved to Marksville, Louisiana to operate another auction barn, “The Cow Palace” from 1983-1993. Buddy moved back to Clarence when the Paragon Casino was built where the Cow Palace once stood. He continued his cattle operation until his death. Buddy also raised registered Quarter Horses. His love for cattle and horses brought much joy to him.

 Buddy was preceded in death by his father, John Clemons, his mother and step-father Utha and Phillip Worsham, his first wife Nell Hicks Clemons, his brother, JW Clemons, his son-in-law Corwyn Aldredge and his step-son William (Bill) Giddens.

 He is survived by his second wife of 20 years, Marjorie Wise Clemons, son Charles Clemons (Casey), daughters Tamela Aldredge( and family), and Melinda Frey (Mark), his step daughter Lisa Giddens Bryant (Grant), grandchildren Kayla Frey Gosserand (Jered), Ryan Frey (Brandi), Chelsea Clemons LaCombe (Brian), Abby Clemons, Emma Clemons, Logan Bounds, Erin Roldan, Lauren Louise Giddens, and Lauren Ashley Bryant, great grandchildren Dorothy Reese Gosserand, Patrick Frey, Elizabeth Frey, JoNell LaCombe, and Stella Clemons as well as many nieces and nephews.

 Those honored to serve as pallbearers include Charles Clemons Jr, Ryan Frey, Joel Smith, Eric Johnson, Billy Thompson, and Terry McQuillin Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be Rayburn Smith, Tom Kervin, James Maxey, Mark Frey, Grant Bryant, Dale Wohletz, and Jacob Wise.

 Special thanks to Wyche Coleman Jr. MD, Sean Troxclaire MD, Sarah Herbel MD, Melanie Francis PA-C, and Steven Scott Boniol MD, and the nurses and staff at Highland Christus Cancer Treatment Center in Shreveport, Louisiana and Hospice of Natchitoches for the loving care given to Buddy during his courageous fight with cancer.
