Charlie Vascocu

A Mass of Christian Burial for Charles Vascocu will be held at 10 am on Wednesday, October 31, 2018, at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Natchitoches. Burial will follow at Weaver Cemetery in Flora. The family will receive friends on the 31st from 8:30 am until 9:30 am at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home. Charles Aldrich Vascocu, (Charlie) was born to James Levi Flack and Bonnie Vascocu on June 14, 1971. He passed away on Sunday, October 21, 2018. He was a 1989 graduate of Natchitoches Central High School. Following graduation, he signed on to play with Delgado Community College in New Orleans where he was a catcher for their baseball team. Then in 1991, he transferred to Northwestern State University to continue his baseball career as a catcher, unfortunately, an injury cut his career short. He enjoyed his time at Northwestern University as a member of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity where he made life-long friendships. He ultimately graduated in 1996 from Northwestern State University where he received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. Charlie started his profession at Ryland homes in Arlington, Texas, where he was a homebuilder. He later moved to Bossier City, Louisiana where he worked for Allstate Insurance as a Claims Adjuster. In 1998, he opened his own residential home building business where he successfully contributed beautiful homes to the Shreveport/Bossier community. He was a prominent builder in the Bossier/Shreveport community for over 10 years. During his time as a home-builder, he served on the Home Builders’ Association board, where he was a vital and contributing asset.  In 1998, he started his family with his first-born son, Chandler James Vascocu, three years later he added his prize possession, Madeline Grace Vascocu, and three years after that was his baby, Nicholas Joseph Vascocu. Charlie is survived by his three children, his father Gary Vascocu, the oldest brother, James (Jim) Toney and wife Joy, his middle brother, Donald, his sister Teresa F. Reeves, and brother, James Levi Flack, Jr., as well as, a host of nieces and nephews. Charlie is preceded in death by his father, James Levi Flack, mother Bonnie Vascocu and brother, David Toney.
