A service to celebrate the life of Cheryl Ann Jeter Choate will be held at 6 pm Monday, September 20, 2021 in the chapel of Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 4 pm until 6 pm on Monday the 20th at Blanchard-St. Denis. Cheryl began her earthly life on March 8, 1953 and left this earth on September 15, 2021. She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Patsy Jeter; paternal grandparents, James and Jamie Jeter; and maternal grandparents, J.C. and Clothilde Grandpierre. She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Larry Wayne Choate; daughter, Amy Dill and husband Rob and their children Alana and Aiden; son, Chris Choate and wife Becca and their children, Gavin and Annie; a brother, Gary Jeter and wife Jan and their son Adam. Cheryl was loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was employed by the Natchitoches Parish School Board for over 30 years. As a teacher/librarian at Robeline High School, Campti Junior High and Lakeview High School, she worked with many fine people. It was in these schools where she touched and influenced the lives of so many students. She enjoyed fishing but was often left at home because she always seemed to catch the most or biggest fish. This was embarrassing for her father and husband who considered themselves to be good fishermen. Her favorite part of fishing was sharing freshly fried filets with family and friends. Her other hobbies were traveling and scrapbooking. Her favorite was scrapbooking where she spent many hours alone or with friends meticulously saving memories of traveling or family members in her books. She will be missed but we can take comfort in knowing she is in the care of her heavenly father and been reunited with family and friends who made this journey before her. We also know that by the grace of God we will see her again and spend eternal life together.
