Chucky, age 58 and a resident of the Spanish Lake Community passed away on February 10, 2021. He was born on April 26, 1962 to James Clyde Mitchell and Argerine Jenkins Mitchell in Zwolle, LA. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Charlotte and Angela Mitchell. Chucky was an avid outdoorsman. The only thing he loved more than hunting was fishing. And everywhere he went, he came home with a pocket full of arrowheads, chips, and petrified wood. He appeared rough and tough but that was only to cover his very tender heart. Chucky was a loyal friend who was willing to give the shirt off his back to someone in need. That didn't mean that he wouldn't try to talk you out of something of yours that he admired. A loving husband, father, brother and friend, he will be deeply missed by those who love him. He is survived by his wife and best friend, Donna Prothro; a son, Anthony Bynog; 3 grandchildren; brothers, Jeffery Mitchell and wife Stephanie, Grady Mitchell and wife Sherry, and Stanley Mitchell; sisters, Freddie Jean Cain and Kim Davis and husband Glen; as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Old Bethel Cemetery Fund c/o Dorothy Gibson, 2481 Posey Road, Natchitoches, LA 71457.
