Claude Nichols of Cloutierville, LA was born on August 2, 1940 to Eler and Melvin Nichols in Gorum, LA. He went home to meet his Lord and Savior on August 22, 2022. He had a long and hard battle with different illnesses throughout his life. He will be greatly missed by his family. He is preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Tommie Woods and Mildred Conley; three brothers, Webster Nichols, Doc Nichols, and Melvin “Brown” Nichols. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 56 years, Margaret Nichols of Cloutierville; four daughters, Claudy Vallery (Dennis) of Cloutierville, Delinda Salard (Rodney) of Marco, Karen Smith of Bossier City, and Audrey Edwards (James) of Colfax; three sisters, Irene Fabian of Robeline, Maggie Kocher of Broaddus, TX, Dolly Martin of Flatwoods; two brothers, Jack Nichols of Chopin and Bob Nichols of Gorum; he was blessed with 8 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff at Christus St. Frances Cabrini Hospital, Dr. Zack Buckalew, who took such great care of him through his illness, and to Jean Ross, his home health nurse, who did more than care for him, you became a wonderful friend. Whenever Jean was needed, she was there. May God bless all you in a special way. A service to honor Claude’s life will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, August 27, 2022 at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home with Bro. Ralph Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Emmanuel Cemetery in Chopin, LA. The family will receive friends from 10 am until service time on Saturday the 27th at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home. Those honored to serve as pallbearers include Melvin Nichols, Roy Nichols, Brian Nichols, Robert Nichols, Barret Vallery and Seath Vallery.
