Claudia Lois (Hicks) Gerlach

A Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Claudia Lois (Hicks) Gerlach will be at 1 pm Thursday, February 8, 2018, at Trinity Episcopal Church of Natchitoches with Rev. Frank Fuller serving as celebrant. Burial will follow at Memory Lawn Cemetery in Natchitoches. The family will receive friends from 10 am until 12 noon on Thursday the 8th at Blanchard- St. Denis Funeral Home of Natchitoches.Lois Gerlach, 91 years of age, passed away Saturday, February 3, 2018, in Alexandria, LA. She was born on August 12, 1926, to James Harrison Hicks and Myra Sue (Edwards) Hicks in Grand Bayou, LA. She was predeceased by her husband, George Gerlach; grandson, Christopher Stewart; brother, James H. Hicks, Jr.; and a sister, Clara Hicks Morrow. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who will be dearly missed by all that knew and loved her.She is survived by her daughters, Kathy Stewart and husband Jim of Alexandria, LA, George Ann Fuqua of Seguin, TX, and Peggy Burk and husband Jimmy of Lumberton, TX; grandchildren, Brad Stewart and wife Erika, Stephen Grant and wife Michelle, Amy Casey and husband Patrick, Brit Burk, Allison Burk; and 21 great-grandchildren.Those honored to serve as pallbearers include Jim Stewart, Jimmy Burk, Brad Stewart, Brit Burk, Stephen Grant, and Cory Stewart. Honorary pallbearers will be H. K. Morrow, Paul Morrow, and James R. Hicks.
