A Mass of Christian Burial for Clayton Monette will be held at 11 am Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Cloutierville, LA. Interment will follow at St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery under the direction of Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 9 am until 11 am at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be at 10 am. Clayton “Snapper Dog” Monette, 57 years of age, passed away Friday, June 8, 2018, surrounded by his loving family. Snapper Dog was born on March 16, 1961, to the late Stanley Monette, Sr. and Pearly LaBom Monette in Pineville, LA. Snapper Dog married his beloved wife, Yvette LaCour Monette, also a resident of Cloutierville, LA, on January 12, 1980. From this union, they were blessed with two children; one daughter, Danielle LaCour Lincoln and one son, Joshua Monette. Snapper Dog was a well-respected man of Cloutierville for the majority of his life. He was available to help anyone, day or night. A man of many skills, he primarily was known for his many years spent as a plasterer. He always took pride in the quality of the work he provided. He worked for a number of contractors in the area but primarily for Lloyd Moreau and Phillip Dunn. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Yvette LaCour Monette of Cloutierville; his daughter, Danielle LaCour Lincoln (James) of San Antonio, TX; his son, Joshua Monette (Jarrod) of Atlanta, GA; sisters, Janie LaCour (Gerald) of Cloutierville, Rachel Moran (Sidney) of Pineville, Veronica Monette of Atlanta, GA, Debra “Nenie” LaCour (Craig) of Natchitoches, and Betty Monette (Norris) of Chicago, IL; his brother, Randy Monette of Cloutierville, LA; two grandchildren, Joseph Lawrence Lincoln and Jacob Lymar Lincoln both of San Antonio, TX; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Stanley Monette, Sr. and Pearly LaBom Monette; and his brother, Stanley Monette, Jr.
