A Mass of Christian Burial for Clyde Francis Vienne will be held on Tuesday, March 15, 2022 at 11 AM at the Minor Basilica of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Memory Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday, March 14, 2022 at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home from 5 pm until 8 pm. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be at 7 pm. Clyde Francis Vienne, 85 years of age and a resident of Natchitoches, passed away on March 9, 2022. He was born on October 19, 1936, to Clyde Francis Vienne, Sr. and Elizabeth Cook Vienne in Natchitoches, LA. He was a 1954 graduate of St. Mary’s High School and upon graduation joined the US Navy where he served on the carrier USS Platte. He was honorably discharged in 1959 and returned to Natchitoches where he later earned a bachelor’s degree from NSU. Francis was a Wildlife Biologist with the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries for 34 years but was better known as a teacher and coach for St. Mary’s School. Francis loved working at St. Mary’s and was present for any and all sporting events. He was a devout catholic of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. He is survived by his wife Carole B. Vienne; children, Michael G. Vienne (Marti), Laura E. Vienne Green (Troy), Christopher F. Vienne (Rhonda), David A. Vienne (Janet), Leah J. Vienne (Helen), Mark E. Vienne, and Matt D. Vienne (Mona). Grandchildren Elizabeth Vienne, Margaret Vienne, Michael Vienne, Jr., Patrick Vienne, Karen Cothran, Morgan Luster, Tyler Vienne, Garrett Vienne, Lauren Vienne, Korbin Vienne, Ashton Vienne, Chace Vienne, Makensie Vienne, Zachary Vienne and Joshua Vienne. Great grandchildren Allison Evans and Chace Evans. Great grandchild Henry Finch and great great grandchild Elizabeth Evans. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde Francis Vienne, Sr. and Elizabeth Cook Vienne and his brother, Charles Dwight Vienne, Sr. Those honored to serve as pallbearers include Michael Vienne, Sr., Chris Vienne, David Vienne, Mark Vienne, Matt Vienne, Chase Vienne, Charlie Vienne, Jr. and Scott Vienne. Honorary pallbearers will be Norm Blumke, Kevin Bucknum, Ronnie Crow, Troy Green, Jeremy Hale, Bill Litchfield, and Tommy Mathis. In lieu of flowers, please donate in Francis’s name to St. Mary’s Catholic School and/or to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
