Daisy took her first breath in Heaven on February 12, 2018. This beautiful, talented and loved woman was born on August 7, 1930. She was raised on Riverside Plantation in Bermuda, Louisiana and graduated from St. Mary’s Catholic School in Natchitoches, Louisiana. She then attended Northwestern State University and was awarded a Masters in Music. She first worked as a Music Supervisor in White Castle, Louisiana, and subsequently was a Music Supervisor in the Shreveport area. She moved back to Bermuda, Louisiana, to live with her parents, and taught music at St. Mary’s School and the Natchitoches Parish School System where she shared her talents working with special needs children. Music was her passion and she played organ and piano at various churches in the Natchitoches, Cane River and Cloutierville areas. She taught countless lessons to those who wanted to share her love of music, children and adults alike. She was preceded in death by her parents, Francis Reginald Prudhomme and Louise Desiree Cloutier Prudhomme, her niece Barbra Batten Harrison, and her nephew John T. Batten, III. She is survived by her loving sister, Kathleen Celine Prudhomme Batten and her husband, John T. Batten, Jr., her niece, Becky Batten Vead and her husband Larry, her great-niece, Lindsay Alexis Vead and a nephew-in-law, Johnny P. Harrison. She is also survived by many cousins, church family, friends and many music students. The family thanks her “special daughter” Edna Elie, Natchitoches Community Care Center and Drs. Bryan and Cissy Picou for all of the courtesies you provided for our beautiful “Aunt Daisy”. There will be a Memorial Mass celebrating Daisy’s life on Saturday, March 3, 2018, at 1:00 p.m. at St. Charles Borromeo Chapel in Bermuda, Louisiana, with Rev. Louis Sklar officiating. God, please bless our music, that it might glorify your Name. May we use it to serve you and may that always be our aim. Let it be a witness to your majesty and love And remind us that you’re watching from your throne above. May others see your beauty in every note they hear And when they hear my music, may they feel your presence near. Oh Lord, we ask for guidance in everything we do And pray you’ll make our music an instrument for you.
