Daniel Lane Todtenbier “Dan”, age 58, passed away on Monday, May 14, 2018. Dan was born in Bloomington, Indiana on March 26, 1960. Dan was a longtime resident of Natchitoches, Louisiana. Prior to making his home in Natchitoches, Dan resided primarily in Anderson, IN. Dan had two children; Daniel Lane Todtenbier of Aurora, Colorado; and Amanda Ellen Todtenbier of Anderson, Indiana. Dan grew up in Natchitoches, Louisiana. He attended Natchitoches Academy and Natchitoches Central High School. Dan played football throughout his high school years; graduating from Natchitoches Central High School in 1978. Dan went on to further his education and studied Business at Northwestern State University. Early in Dan’s career, he moved to Anderson, Indiana where he operated Frisch’s Big Boy Restaurants with his family. Dan moved back to Natchitoches in 2008 and worked as a manager at Trail Boss Restaurant until he retired in 2012. Dan was a friendly and kind-hearted soul who never met a stranger and considered everyone his friend. Dan enjoyed fishing, photography, playing his guitar, and watching the old westerns and sitcoms from the 1960’s and 1970’s. Dan will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by his family and friends. Dan is survived by his son, Daniel Lane Todtenbier of Aurora, Colorado; daughter, Amanda Ellen Todtenbier of Anderson, Indiana; two grandchildren, Jaxon and Finley of Anderson; mother, Marjorie Schadler Todtenbier; brother, Jay Todtenbier; sisters Linda Todtenbier and Beth St. Andre and husband; sister-in-law, Michele Maggio Todtenbier of Natchitoches; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives. He is preceded in death by his father, Reynold Edward Todtenbier; brother, Reynold Hunter Todtenbier, grandparents Alvin and Dorothy Schadler; and grandparents Evelyn and Count Rupert.
