Daphne Suzanne Butler, 49, of Natchitoches, LA passed away Saturday, October 8, 2022 at her home after her courageous battle with cancer. Daphne, known by her cousins as “Daffy Butt” and her grandson as “DeeDee” was born July 1973 in Many, LA. Daphne is survived by her children, Leyton and Logan Wyatt of Natchitoches, LA, her grandson Weston of Colorado, her sisters Cynthia Butler of Baton Rouge, LA and Aimee Butler of New Orleans, LA, her precious dog, King, and numerous family members and friends. She is also survived by the one who put a smile on her face, Ronnie Morgan, and her “ride or die”, Jennifer. She is preceded in death by her parents Kathy and Danny Butler, her grandparents, Johnny and Kathryn Boudreaux and Daniel and Hilda Butler. She was a beloved teacher at LP Vaughn for over 20 years and was studying nursing prior to her illness. Daphne touched many students and fellow teachers’ lives during her tenure as an educator. She volunteered at St. Anthony of Padua as a religion teacher. Daphne graduated from Northwestern State University. Her family will miss her stubborn nature and the smile on her face. Funeral services for Daphne will be held at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church with Father John O’Brien in Natchitoches, LA on Tuesday, October 11, 2022 at 11AM. Visitation will precede the funeral starting at 10 AM also at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church. Burial service will follow at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church Cemetery in Zwolle. Those honored to serve as pallbearers will be Leyton Wyatt, Rian Achord, Tristen Dubois, Garrett Anderson, Jarrad Remedis, and Lamar Boudreaux. In lieu of flowers, make donations to the Natchitoches Animal Shelter, St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church and LP Vaughn Elementary School.
