A service to honor the life of Donald Ray Ashcraft will be held at First United Methodist Church Crossroads on Sunday, December 16, 2018 beginning at 2 PM. A graveside service will be held at Northwest Louisiana Veterans Cemetery in Keithville, La. at 10 AM on Monday, December 17, 2018, for family and close friends under the direction of Blanchard St. Denis funeral home and the U.S. Army Honor Guard. Donald, known as Donnie or Pops to his family and friends, left this world to be with his Jesus on Thursday, December 13, 2018. Donnie led a life of selfless service to his country, community, and church. A Veteran of the Vietnam War, Donnie always put the needs of others above his own. A devoted Christian, husband and family man, he enjoyed his retirement by ushering at Crossroads, fishing with his family and making his wife smile and laugh every day since the day they were married on March 30, 1996. Donnie was preceded in death by his parents John J Ashcraft and Bertha Irby. He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Judy Rae Ashcraft; son Jason Adcock and wife Chasity of Montgomery, daughter Jennifer Adcock of Natchitoches, four grandchildren, Gavin, AJ, Aubryi and Abel, siblings, John Ashcraft and wife Sharon of Shreveport, Harold Ashcraft and wife Lori of Shreveport, Linda Broadway of Panama City, FL, Regina Stewart and husband Scott of Hoover, AL, Merri Sullivan of Arkansas, mother-in-law Jimmie Comer(Howard), goddaughter Lily Boles and special brother Dennis McClung of Dallas, TX, a host of nieces and nephews and several others that called him POPS; as well as many close friends. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Donnie’s name to the Boy Scouts Troop 60 or First United Methodist Men of Natchitoches.
