Dorothy “Dot” Wallace, 95 years of age, passed away on January 29, 2025. She was born on May 31, 1929.
She was a great asset to her husband in the field of ministry as well as being a loving mother and friend.
She is preceded in death by her parents Walter and Carrie Evers Rounsavall; her husband of 58 years Rev. Robert Paul “Bob” Wallace; her sons Robert “Paul” Wallace and Walter Franklin “Wally” Wallace; an infant daughter Susanne; a sister Edna McManus, who she affectionately called “Sis”; as well as many nieces and nephews.
She is survived by her daughters Paula Wallace Ammons (Jimmy) and Elizabeth Wallace (Bruce); grandchildren Jaime Rhymes (David), Jessica Hurd (Mike), Caroline Singleton, Emily Singleton, and a bonus grandchild Jamie Grimes (Scott); and great grandchildren Molly Rhymes, Emma Rhymes, Ian Hurd, Ayden Hurd and Olyvia Hurd.
The family would like to extend their deepest appreciation to Mrs. Dot’s sitters, Pam, Ijetta, Kitissa and Annette. They were caring and loving with Mom and were invaluable to our family. A thanks to Hospice of Natchitoches for providing a nurturing and caring atmosphere during a difficult time.
A service to honor her life will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, February 1, 2025, at Calvary Baptist Church in Natchitoches, LA. Interment will follow at Fellowship Baptist Cemetery near Converse, LA under the direction of Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home of Natchitoches. The family will receive friends from 12 noon until service time at Calvary Baptist Church located at 312 LA-3191, Natchitoches, LA 71457. Those honored to serve as pallbearers include Bruce Singleton, Mike Hurd, Scott Grimes and Jimmy Ammons.
