Dorothy Mobley Weeks was born on March 27, 1937 in Ashland, LA to Lee James Mobley and Evelyn Barron Mobley and passed away at her residence in Blanchard, LA on May 7, 2022 at the age of 85 with her family by her side. Her profession was custom drapery. She loved creating beautiful custom window treatments and enjoyed a long career doing just that. There were three jobs that were highlights of her career: Making the drapes and dressing the window at the Ethan Allen furniture store in Shreveport; in the 197O's making and installing drapes for Terry Bradshaw's house in Grand Cane. Terry was home doing his laundry; so, they discussed laundry as well as other things and then he grilled dinner for her! Making the drapes for a room in Hank Williams, Jr's home in Montana. He chose a Shreveport designer (he wanted a southern decor) and the designer asked Dot to make some of the drapes and a cornice board. She really wanted to go on the install on that one! She loved music. Singing and playing guitar was an early passion. She also loved baseball and horse racing. She enjoyed traveling and went on many trips with her sister Margaret Lewis from Maine to Nevada. She had an intense zest for life and insisted that everything be fun or she wasn't doing it! She leaves such a void and we are heartbroken. She was preceded in death by her mother, Evelyn Barron Mobley and father, Lee James Mobley and a brother, Alton Roy Mobley. She is survived by her beloved husband of 49 years, Murphy Neal Weeks; her first husband and the father of her children, Hubert Stubbs; sons, Buddy & Barry Stubbs; and a daughter, Lisa Wood and her husband Shine; 2 grandchildren, Sean Stubbs and Casey Morgan and his wife Tonya; 4 great grandchildren, Kaitlon Morgan White, Taylor Morgan, Jace Morgan & Avery Morgan; and 2 great-great grandchildren; sisters, Margaret Lewis, Leatrice Kay & husband Darroll, and Kathy Kohls & husband Bradley; brothers, Harry Mobley and Benny Mobley and his wife Bernice; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. A service to honor her life will be held at 12 noon on Wednesday, May 11, 2022 at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches, LA with Bro. Jerry Martin officiating. Burial will follow at Ramah Cemetery in Ashland, LA. The family will receive friends from 10 am until service time on May 11th at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home.
