Robert Clarence Jones, III was born in Longview, Texas in 1958. In high school, he enjoyed competing in the school math team. He then went to Texas A&M and UCLA, where he developed his life-long passion for economics. Bob continued studying economics and how its principles help us understand human nature. He married Nancy Larrimore in 1987, and had 3 sons--Robert, Daniel, and Jeremy. Bob taught at Sanford University in Birmingham, Alabama, McNeese State in Lake Charles, Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, Louisiana and Louisiana State University in Alexandria, Louisiana. Bob loved communication, psychology, coffee, theology, thinking, reading, and hiking in Colorado. He spent much of his time looking for economic principles in everyday scenarios. Bob and his family enjoyed walking and talking about everything in God's creation. He loved his students and teaching so much that he continued teaching Economics throughout his sickness. In 1997, he became a founding elder of Covenant Presbyterian Church in Natchitoches, where he served for the rest of his life. Robert (Bob) was a dedicated Christian who viewed all his actions as stewardship to God, under the master concern of seeking the Kingdom of Heaven. A service to honor his life will be held at 11 am on Monday, March 13th at Covenant Presbyterian Church in Natchitoches. Burial will follow at American Cemetery at a later date.
