Edna LeMay Rhymes, 75, of Creston, Louisiana, passed away on Thursday, January 24, 2019, at Willis-Knighton Pierremont Health Center in Shreveport, LA. LeMay was born to Bennett and Thelma (Graham) Rice on April 28, 1943, in Campti, Louisiana. LeMay was an LPN and worked for many years as a surgical nurse at Natchitoches Hospital. After her retirement from surgery, she continued to work as a home health nurse and enjoyed visiting with many of her patients. LeMay enjoyed spending weekends with friends and family, particularly at her camp house on the lake, both the camp on Clear Lake and the current house on Black Lake. She was a good friend to many and was always willing to help those in need. She is preceded in death by her parents, Bennet and Thelma, her husband, Robert Glenn Rhymes, and daughter, Rhonda Ann Rhymes. She is survived by her children, Julie Rhymes Lockhart, Wendy Rhymes Stevens and husband Heath, and Jamie Duayne Rhymes and wife Shawn; 8 grandchildren, Michael Orlan Lockhart III and wife Shelbie, Anna Elizabeth Stevens, Kellan Thomas Lockhart, Alexandra Paige Stevens, Robert Bascom Rhymes, Thomas Graham Rhymes, Stephen Sellers Rhymes and Mary Elizabeth Rhymes; and one great-grandchild, Orlan Reed Lockhart. The family will receive visitors from 5 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, January 26, 2019, at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches, LA. Funeral services celebrating LeMay’s life will be held on Sunday, January 27, 2019, at 2:30 pm at Creston Baptist Church, followed by burial at Goldonna Cemetery in Goldonna, Louisiana. Pallbearers are her grandsons, Orlan Lockhart, Kellan Lockhart, Robert Rhymes, Thomas Rhymes, and Stephen Rhymes, and her son-in-law, Heath Stevens.
