Elaine Simpson

Graveside service for Elaine Simpson will be held at 3 pm on December 14, 2019, at Oak Grove Methodist Cemetery in Natchitoches with Bro. David Elkins officiating.  The family will receive friends from 1 pm until 2:45 pm at Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home on Saturday the 14th. Helen Elaine Simpson was born on April 15, 1941, to Elmer Masters and Evylene Bolton Masters in Bellwood, LA.  She passed away on December 10, 2019, at the age of 78 in Fernandina Beach, FL with her family by her side.  Elaine enjoyed crafts and was an excellent quilt maker, she especially enjoyed making baby quilts for expecting mothers.  She retired from NSU after many years of service and always treasured the relationships she made while working.  She will be dearly missed but always remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister. She was preceded in death by her parents Evylene and Elmer Masters; her beloved husband, Henry Payne Simpson, Jr.; a son, Henry Payne Simpson III; and siblings, Evon M. Hughes and James Masters. She is survived by her children, Carla Robidoux and husband Cary of St Marys, GA and Kenneth Simpson of Natchitoches; and a sister, Eva Patch and husband Glenn of Baton Rouge.  She was blessed with 9 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
