Ella Metoyer

A funeral service to honor the life of Mrs. Ella Metoyer will be held at 11 am on Thursday, March 8, 2018 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Cloutierville, LA.  Burial will follow at the Catholic Cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 7, 2018 from 5 pm to 9 pm with the recitation of the Rosary at 7 pm at Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home. At the age of 89, Ella Metoyer passed away on the morning of March 6, 2018.  She was a lifelong resident of Cloutierville, LA and expressed fulfillment in being a devout Catholic, wife and mother of nine children.  Her compassionate demeanor has graced the lives of many and she was a true blessing to all those who knew and loved her. Ella was preceded in death by her parents, Hebert Metoyer and Fannie Rachal of Cloutierville, her husband, Peter Metoyer, Sr., three sons:  Peter Jr., Hebert and David Metoyer, a host of siblings and one grandchild, Jacob Metoyer. Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Nora M. Jones (Steve) of Natchez, LA and Mary Ella Christophe (Anthony) of Natchitoches, LA; her sons, Martin Metoyer (Frances) of Shreveport, LA, Bruce Metoyer (Mindy) of Natchitoches, LA; Milton Metoyer (Cynthia) of Derry, LA, Michael Metoyer of Cloutierville, LA; and her sister, Theresa Coutee of Cloutierville, LA.  She was loved intensely by her 21 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family and friends.   Those honored to serve as pallbearers are her grandsons:  Steven L. Jones, Dominick Metoyer, Martin Metoyer, Jr., John P. Metoyer, Milton Metoyer, Jr., and Anthony Christophe, Jr.
