Elsie Swindle Taggart

Graveside services for Mrs. Elsie Rae Freeman Swindle Taggart will be held at 10 am on Tuesday, March 27, 2018, at the Memory Lawn Cemetery with Rev. John Elliott officiating.  Burial will follow at Memory Lawn Cemetery in Natchitoches, LA.  The family will receive friends from 6 pm until 9 pm on Monday, March 26, 2018, at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches.  Elsie, 86 years of age, passed away Saturday, March 24, 2018, in Shreveport. She was born on May 12, 1931, to Roy and Clara Freeman in Lake End, LA.  She loved her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, her church, and The Lord.   She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Aaron Swindle, daughter, Debbie Swindle Simmons, brothers, Thurman Freeman, Billy Freeman and Harold Freeman.  She is survived by her children, Carla Swindle Fullerton, and Gary Swindle and wife Alicen; 10 grandchildren, Gretchen Murchison, Lori Vallery, Cesilee Kendall, John Simmons, Kyle Stringer, Cory Simmons, Amanda Hice, Jennifer Powell, Philip Simmons, and Lauren Ford; as well as 16 great-grandchildren.   In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to the Alzheimer’s Association, at www.alz.org.
