Geraldine French, a cherished mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and sister, passed on November 1, 2024, in Provencal, LA, surrounded by her loving family. Born on May 28, 1938, in Spanish Lake, LA, Geraldine's life was marked by her nurturing spirit and unwavering commitment to her family and faith.
A vibrant member of the Provencal United Pentecostal Church, Geraldine deeply valued the time spent worshipping with her church family. She was a proud member of the Caddo-Adai and always held close to her Native American roots. She instilled love and compassion in her family, always placing their needs above her own. Her legacy of kindness and devotion will forever be remembered by those fortunate enough to have known and loved her. .
Geraldine is survived by her son, Jimmy French and his wife Sandra; her daughter, Roxanne Brian and her husband David; and her beloved grandchildren: Nevada French and his wife Brandi, Charles Brian and his wife Katelyn, Clifton Brian and his wife Marlee, Ricky French and his wife Lindsey, Paul French, Jr., and Emma Brian and her fiancé Brandon Hightower. She was also a proud great grandmother to Brianna French, Cheyenne French, Charles Brian, Jr., Jaxon Brian, Kenzlee Brian, Cohen Brian, Trey French, Kelsie French, Christian French, Mason French, Olivia French, Baelynn Hightower, and Ross Hightower. Geraldine also leaves behind her sisters, Mary Oxley and Elvina Suehs, as well as her brother, Earl Niette; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Billy Ray French; her parents, Jack and Catherine O'Con Niette; her sons, Rickey Dale French and Paul Alexander French; her grandson, Roger French; her great grandchildren, Hunter French and IIsabela Kate Brian; her sister, Ina Ruth Pleasant; and her brothers, Ivy Niette, William Neitte, and L.C. Niette; and a life-long friend, Joe Amos McFerren.
The visitation for Geraldine will be held on November 4, 2024, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Provencal United Pentecostal Church, located at 1851 LA-117, Provencal, LA 71468. Following the visitation, a funeral service will take place at the same location beginning at 12:00 PM with Bro. Paul Grace and Clifton Brian officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Grove Cemetery in Robeline, LA.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers will be Paul French, Jr. Brandon Hightower, Clarence VanHook, Charles Brian, Jeremy Cox, and Darrell Brian.
