Glennis Merle Howard Wise

A service to honor the life of Mrs. Glennis Merle Howard Wise will be held at 3 pm on Monday, July 1, 2019, in the chapel of Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches. Burial will follow at Belmont Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 pm until 9 pm on Sunday, June 30, 2019, at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home. Glennis, 80 years of age and a resident of Natchitoches passed away on Saturday, June 29, 2019, with her family by her side. She was born on February 4, 1939, to Foster Howard and Minnie Lee Davis Howard in Belmont, La. A graduate of Northwestern State University, earning her Master’s in Sociology was one of her biggest accomplishments. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She will be dearly missed by all those who knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband, Dale Rains, second husband, Jimmy Wise, and sister, Sandra Moore. Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Kenneth “Dubo “ Rains, and wife Renee, Tommy Wise and wife Kitty, and Dawn Wise, grandsons, Clint Rains and wife Mayghen, Brett Rains and wife Timi, Thomas Wise and J.R. Wise, great-grandchildren, Payton, Bronson, Weston, Maverick, and JoLee Rains. Those honored to serve as pallbearers include David Gibson, Logan Gibson, Kenny Thomas, Curtis Jordan, and Rob Gaddis. Honorary pallbearers will be Clint Rains, Brett Rains, Thomas Wise, and J.R. Wise. In lieu of flowers donations in Glennis’s name can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, The Wounded Warrior Project, or The Shriner’s.
