Herbert John Bayoune was born April 22, 1939, to the union of Aristle (Metoo) Bayoune and Orleas Coutee Bayoune (Mis Babe). He departed to his Heavenly home on February 20, 2022. He was united in holy matrimony to the late Jennie Metoyer Bayoune. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, his wife, one son John (Bubba) Bayoune, one daughter-in-law Lashonda Bayonne and one sister Mae Ethel LaCour. He is survived by his children Theresa Bayoune Rachal, Kerney Bayoune (Belinda), Joseph Bayonne Sr, Janice Armstrong (Phillip Sr.). His Grandchildren- Santonya Bayonne, Jennifer Bayonne (Darrell Lee), Kayla Rachal, Tinesha Henry (Tony), Shawn Bell (Kela), James Grant, Courtney Watson (Charles), Kerena Milner (David), Kerney Bayoune Jr., Jennie Bayonne, Joseph Bayonne Jr., Philp Armstrong Jr., Antonio Armstrong (Tonya), and Crystal Armstrong. Sixteen great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. Herbert Bayoune was a loving father who enjoyed fishing and hunting. He attended St. Joseph Catholic School on Cane River. He adored music in all aspects. He could listen to a record and play a chord on his guitar just by ear. For years, he entertained others playing his guitar around Natchitoches and the Melrose community at the legendary “Bubba’s”. Herbert dedicated 20 years of his life to Natchitoches Parish Hospital until he retired. He was also an honorary member of the “Knights of Columbus.” Herbert was a devout Catholic and attended St. Anthony Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian Burial for Mr. Herbert J. Bayoune will be held at 10 am Friday, February 25, 2022 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church with Father John O’Brien serving as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Augustine Catholic Cemetery in Isle Brevelle, LA with a repast to follow burial at St. Anthony Catholic Church Hall. The family will receive friends from 5 pm until 9 pm on Thursday, February 24th at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home with recitation of the Holy Rosary to be held at 7 pm. Those honored to serve as pallbearers include James (Tokay) Rachal Jr., Joseph Bayonne Jr., Kerney Bayoune Jr., Darrell Lee, Eric Metoyer, James Grant, and Earl Jefferson.
