Anna Ruth Niette Pleasant, affectionately known as Ina or Ruthie, departed this life peacefully and went to spend eternity with her heavenly father on January 2, 2020. She was born on March 24, 1927, to Catherine O’Con Niette and Jack Niette, Jr. of Robeline, LA. She is preceded in death by her parents, her brothers William Niette and Ivy Niette, and husband Otho Pleasant. She is survived by her children, Vernon Ray Pleasant and wife Nell of Robeline, Sheila Cagle and husband Roy of Marthaville, Waymon Lynn Pleasant and wife Brenda of Robeline, 12 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, brothers Lottie Charles "L.C." Niette of Natchitoches and Earl Niette of Provencal; sisters Elvina Suehs of Bryan, TX, Geraldine French of Provencal, and Mary Oxley of Robeline, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. She was a proud member of Adai Caddo Indian Tribe of Spanish Lake, LA as well as a member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church, which she loved very much. She lived in Robeline, in the Spanish Lake Community, for most of her life. She worked in the lunchroom at the Marthaville School for over 25 years. She enjoyed quilting and playing bingo but what she held closest to her heart was being a sister, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend to many. The family will receive friends from 5 pm until 9 pm on Sunday, January 5, 2020, at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held at 7 pm on the 5th in the funeral home chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 am on Monday, January 6, 2020, at St. Ann’s Catholic Church with Father Thomas Paul serving as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Ann’s Cemetery in Robeline. Those honored to serve as pallbearers include her grandsons, Casey Wade Pleasant, Eric Lynn Pleasant, Christopher Dayne Cagle, Warren Trevor Cagle, Jonathon Patrick Cagle, and Paul Wilson Cagle. Honorary pallbearers will be her grandsons, Glynn Roy Cagle, Travis Ray Bennett, and Cpl. Dewayne Carlton “D.C.” Duncan.
