James Ballard

A service to honor the life of Calvin James Ballard will be held at 2 pm on Monday, September 12, 2022 at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home with Bro. Mark Green officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery near Hagewood, LA. The family will receive friends from 11 am until service time on the 12th at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home. James, 73 years of age and a resident of Saline, LA, earned his eternal reward in Heaven on September 9, 2022. He was born on September 18, 1948 to John Franklin Ballard and Ruby Mae McCarty Ballard in Provencal, LA. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Wayne Ballard. He is survived by his wife Janet Edwards Ballard; sons, Ronald Ballard, Richard Ballard, and Jason Ballard; daughters, Cindy Gongre and Renee Hensley; siblings, Ruby Nell Thomisee, Brenda Ballard, and John Ballard, Jr.; as well as numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews. James fought a long and courageous battle with health issues. Even through it all, he never questioned his faith and relationship with his Savior, Jesus Christ. His favorite saying, he acquired from his mother, “Ain’t God Good” summed up his strong belief in his Christian walk. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
