Jerry Sesvold

July 31, 1965 — February 20, 2025

Natchitoches

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jerry Sesvold, a beloved father, husband, skilled automotive mechanic, and cherished community member of Pitkin, LA, and member of Believers Bible Church. At the age of 59, he entered eternal rest surrounded by his loving family in Natchitoches, LA, on Thursday, February 20th.

He built his own automotive shop from the ground up, known as Son-In-Law’s Automotive, leaving behind a legacy of dedication, and perseverance. Jerry spent multiple years in business, not just repairing cars, but mentoring and teaching local young men the trade of automotive repair while instilling work ethic and responsibility in their lives. Jerry’s passion for cars and his ability to fix anything made him a trusted friend to many in his community, but more than that, he was a man of kindness, laughter, and an unwavering commitment to those he loved. Whether fixing a neighbor’s car, or lending a hand to a friend in need, Jerry’s kindness knew no bounds. His legacy of compassion and generosity will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew him.

More importantly than his work as an exceptional mechanic, he instilled the values of hard work, integrity, and kindness with the love and support of his wife as they raised their four children. His legacy and generosity endure though his children, who actively pass on their knowledge and skills to those in their local communities. As Jerry frequently advised, “Work smarter, not harder.” The work of his hands was a blessing to many.

He was proceeded in death by his parents Raymond Sesvold and Sharon Chalmers; three brothers Jeff, Jack, and Joel Sesvold; son, Matthew Sesvold, Sr.; and grandson, Parker Sesvold.

He is survived by his wife of 35 years and mother of their four children, Therisa Sesvold; two sons, Michael Sesvold and his wife Ashley, Marcus Sesvold and his wife Taylor; one daughter, Krista Cholvitee and her husband Schuyler, all of Natchitoches; one daughter-in-law, Megan Sesvold, widow of Matthew Sesvold, Sr. of Oklahoma; and nine grandchildren Drake, Mackenzie, Maybri, Matthew, Jr., Presley, Ezekiel, Easton, Weston, and Aubrie.

Public visitation will begin at 9:00AM and conclude at the time of service. The service will be officiated by Pastor Stanley Clemons, Bro. Brian Thompson and Michael Sesvold.
