Funeral services for John Levy LaCaze will be held on Saturday, April 12, 2025. The family will receive friends from 8 AM to 10:00 AM at Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home on April 12, 2025. Visitation will be followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30 AM at The Minor Basilica of the Immaculate Conception in Natchitoches, LA with Rev. Irion St. Romain officiating. Interment, with military honors, will follow at St. Anne’s Cemetery in Natchez, LA.
Levy, 92 passed on March 30, 2025. Levy was born on March 16, 1933, in Flora, Louisiana. He was a loving father, grandfather and great grandfather. Levy had been a long-time member of the Minor Basilica of the Immaculate Conception Church where he was in the choir for many years. He was also active in the Knights of Columbus for many years. He bled purple and gold for his LSU Tigers Football team. Before moving to live in Gonzales, Levy could be found cheering on the Northwestern State University Football team every Saturday night. He loved fishing and never missed a chance to laugh.
Levy grew up in Natchitoches attending St. Mary Catholic School and later joined the United States Air Force where he served our nation for 20 years. Upon retirement, he attended Northwestern State University graduating in Business Management with a focus on Accounting. He then worked for Natchitoches Coca Cola Bottling Company and lastly retired from employment with the City of Natchitoches.
He is survived by his daughters, Brenda Froisy and husband Francis, St. Amant LA, Michelle Goudeau and husband Jeff, Lake Charles LA, Pam Cox, Brenda Curran and husband Danny of Natchitoches LA and Gary Rigsby and wife Donna of Olive Branch MS; 9 grandchildren: Ryan McAlexander, Beth Mazoch, Lee Baird, Danielle Stegall, Timmy Heffer, Steven Froisy, Jay Froisy, Jeffrey Goudeau Jr, and Tayler Goudeau. Levy also had numerous great grandchildren.
Levy was preceded in death by his parents, Lucas and Asoline LaCaze, siblings: Frovelia Spillman, Steven LaCaze, Curvin LaCaze, Bill LaCaze, Raymond LaCaze, and Monsignor Carson LaCaze. He was also preceded in death by his beloved wife Martha Jean LaCaze and son, Dennis Wayne LaCaze.
