John Kenneth Rachal, (better known as Kenneth) passed away suddenly in his home in Derry, Louisiana on January 7, 2025. He was born to Louis Monticlair “Jeff” Rachal and Clotile Metoyer Rachal on August 24, 1952.
Kenneth attended Springhill High School. He later he moved away from Derry to Houston, Texas and then to Chicago, Illinois in his young adult life, but he always returned to the place he loved, home.
He was an outdoorsman at heart. Anyone who knew him, knew he famously kept his yard immaculate and very well-manicured. His other passions were horses and his garden, which he took great pride in. Whether generously sharing his crop with friends and neighbors or doing some canning to put up for the winter, he loved his garden. He also took pride in helping others. He prepared many graves for St John the Baptist Church in Cloutierville, Louisiana when fellow community members passed away.
He is survived by an older sister, Doris Rachal Dupree (Fread), a younger sister, Mary Diann Rachal Wheatfall. Also, many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews who adored him, as well as one godson. He will be deeply missed by his family as well as countless friends and neighbors.
He is preceded in death by his father, Louis Monticlair “Jeff” Rachal and mother, Clotile Metoyer Rachal. Also, by siblings, Joseph Rachal, Joyce Rachal Conant and James Rachal.
Funeral services will be held at Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home located at 848 Keyser Ave, Natchitoches, Louisiana on Saturday, January 11, 2025 at 10 AM. The family will receive friends from 9 AM until service time at Blanchard-St. Denis. Burial will follow at St John the Baptist Church Cemetery, Cloutierville, Louisiana. There will not be a repast to follow.
