A Mass of Christian Burial for John H. Vercher will be held at 11 am on Saturday, January 12, 2019 at Blanchard - St. Denis Funeral Home with Rev. Louis Sklar officiating. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in the Trichel Community. The family will receive friends from 5 pm until 8 pm with a Holy Rosary at 7 pm on Friday, January 11, 2019 at Blanchard- St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches. Mr. Vercher, 81 years of age and a resident of Clarence, LA, passed away Sunday, January 6, 2019 in Bossier City, LA. He was born March 23, 1937 in Clarence, LA to Joseph Leon Vercher and Myrtle Arledge Vercher. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He was an avid outdoorsman; he loved hunting, fishing, and gardening. He also enjoyed always eating his dessert first. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 50 years, Kittie Sue DeLoach Vercher; brother, Joseph Leon Vercher, Jr.; and sister, Elmena Howell. He is survived by his son, Keith Vercher and his wife Kristi; daughters, Susan Hennigan and her husband Al , Rebecca Prestenbach and her husband Robert, and Frances Ezernack and her husband Keven; sister, Elizabeth Trichel; grandchildren, Lillian Dixon, Lynthus Hennigan, IV. and his wife Kayla, Nathan Vercher, John William Vercher, Lanze Ezernack, and Lukas Ezernack; great grandchildren, Violet Dixon, Jase Ruiz, Asher Hennigan, and Bryna Hennigan; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Those honored to serve as pallbearers include: Nathan Vercher, John William Vercher, Keven Ezernack, Lanze Ezernack, Lukas Ezernack, and Lynthus Hennigan, IV. The family would like to take this opportunity to express its appreciation to the third wing of the Northwest Louisiana Veterans Home in Bossier.
