Funeral service for Eula Joyce Jennings Houston will be held at 12 noon on Wednesday, December  5, 2018, at Bethany Baptist Church in Marthaville with Bro. Brian Jennings officiating.  Burial will follow at Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home of Natchitoches.  The family will receive friends from 10 am until service time on Wednesday, December 5that Bethany Baptist Church. Mrs. Joyce, 65 years of age and a long-time resident of Marthaville, passed away Sunday, December 2, 2018, in Shreveport, LA.  She was born on October 31, 1953, to Ray Jennings and Marie Bryant Jennings in Monroe, LA.  She is preceded in death by her father. Joyce moved from the Houston area to Marthaville in 1997. She enjoyed fishing in her younger years and found herself always watching the news, as well as swinging outside on the porch swing the older she got.  Her love for animals was like no other, specifically her cat, Maxine. “Momma” was always there when you called, usually watching Fox News, but always there for whatever you needed. She was a strong, determined and independent woman, her illness never slowed her down, she was a fighter. She is survived by her mother, children, Ray Houston and wife Christa, and Jan Houston-Patters and husband Michael, Jr.; grandchildren, Samantha Sheldon, Garrett Russell, Quintan Daley, and Olivia Houston; sisters, Shelia Hooks and husband Lonnie, Grace Jennings, and Diane Jennings.
