Juanita Anne Barberousse Henry passed away peacefully December 9, 2024 at Elizabeth’s House in Natchitoches, Louisiana. She was born on August 5, 1934, to Joseph Benjamin Barberousse Jr. and Ettie Bludworth Barberousse.
Juanita graduated from St. Mary’s High School and attended Northwestern State University. She was a proud member of Les Amies, St. Denis Garden Club, Natchitoches Service League, PEO Chapter AU, and Catholic Daughters of America. She also served on the Board of Directors for First Federal Savings and Loan and Exchange Bank and Trust Company.
On November 13, 1957, Juanita married J.M. “Pat” Henry Jr., and together they built a life rooted in love, family, and business. She was a devoted wife and an active partner in helping her husband establish and grow their investments. Juanita enjoyed dancing, traveling, reading, and spending time with her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her older brother, Eddie Lauren Barberousse, who gave his life in WWII; and her beloved husband of 62 years, Pat Henry.
She is survived by her two children, Taine Henry Carrozza (Bob) of Dallas, Texas, and J.M. “Joe” Henry III (Chrissey) of Natchitoches, Louisiana. She also leaves behind four cherished grandchildren, Lauren Anne Carrozza Huffines (Sam), Bailey Elizabeth Henry, Vincent Henry Carrozza, and Joseph M. Henry IV, as well as two great-granddaughters, Eloise and Gwendolyn Huffines.
In accordance with her wishes, Juanita donated her body to the LSU School of Medicine in Shreveport, Louisiana.
The family requests that memorial gifts be made to The Minor Basilica of Immaculate Conception Church in Natchitoches, Louisiana.
A Memorial Mass will be held at The Minor Basilica of Immaculate Conception at 2:00PM, Tuesday, December 17, 2024 with a visitation following from 4:00pm to 6:00PM at the Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home.
The Henry family extends heartfelt gratitude to the many caregivers at Brandon and Cristy Bernard’s Elizabeth’s House for their compassionate care. Special thanks are also extended to the professionals of Hospice of Natchitoches for her support.
Juanita’s warmth, grace, and enduring love for her family and community will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
