Karen Patterson Vivas Davis

A service to remember the life of Karen Patterson Vivas Davis will be at 2 pm Friday, February 16, 2018, in the chapel of Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home with Rev. Tommy Rush officiating.  Burial will follow at Montgomery Cemetery in Montgomery, LA.  The family will receive friends from noon until service time on Friday the 16th at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home. Karen, 69 years of age and a resident of Montgomery, passed away on Monday, February 12, 2018, with her family by her side.  She was born on December 29, 1948, to James E. Patterson and Margaret Juanita Adkins Patterson in Carlsbad, NM.  She owned and operated a beauty shop in her house for many years.  A long-time member of 1st Baptist in Montgomery, she enjoyed fellowship with her church family.  She worked tirelessly to provide for her family and selflessly gave to anyone in need even if it meant sacrificing her own needs.  Karen was the greatest example of someone who led by their actions, her character and moral fiber made her a true Christian lady of faith.  Some of her favorite pass-times include working in her flower garden, she was blessed with a green thumb; but her most cherished times on earth was spent with her children and grandchildren.  We take comfort in knowing one day we will be reunited with her in heaven.   She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Michael Davis and her parents.   She is survived by her sons, Gilbert Alexander Vivas and wife Cheryl, Michael Joseph Davis, and Matthew Grant Davis and wife Amber; daughter, Kara Margaret Davis-Morvant and husband Jody David Morvant, Jr.; brothers, James Patterson and wife Diana and Jerry Patterson and wife Kelley; and a great uncle, Gerald Adkins.  She was blessed with 9 grandchildren, Landon Michael Davis, Karyssa Griffith, Gabriel Morvant, Elizabeth Vivas, Elena Vivas, Matthew Wesse, Lincoln Wesse, Jody David Morvant, III and Autumn Jones.   Those honored to serve as pallbearers include Gilbert Vivas, Michael Davis, Matthew Davis, James Patterson, Jerry Patterson, and Matt Seiple.
