October 7, 1972 — April 12, 2024

A service to honor the life of Kelby Dylan Savell will be held at 4 pm on Tuesday, April 16, 2024 at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home with Bro. Jimmy McDonald and Gary DuBose officiating.  Burial will follow at Bellwood Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 5 pm until 10 pm on Monday, April 15th at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home.

Kelby Dylan Savell was born on October 7, 1972 to Freeman Savell and Beth Creighton Holland in Many, LA. He left this world on April 12, 2024 to join the love of his life and his mama who were surely waiting at the gates of Heaven for his arrival. "Kelbo" was a simple man who loved living a easy life on his little piece of heaven in Bellwood, LA.

Kelby and Lori Ann were married on May 15, 1999. After they married, they moved to Bellwood and settled on the place that would become Kelby's forever home. He once said that the only time he left home was to go to town to buy groceries, other than that he had everything he needed. "Kelbo" was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed the peace and quiet of nature and watching the deer and other animals play in the yard and pasture. Listening to music of all genres was a huge part of his life. He would always have his music playing no matter where he was or what he was doing.

Kelby was a hardworking man who worked for over 20 years at Davis Lumber Company in Provencal, LA. After Davis Mill closed, he went to work at Boise Cascade in Florien, LA. He worked there until COVID struck his home. Because of his declining health, he was never able to return to work and was unable to do some of the things he loved the most. He spent most of his time calling and checking on family and friends.

Kelby is preceded in death by the love of his life, Lori Ann O'Bannon Savell; his loving mother, Beth Creighton Holland; his grandparents Carl and Cora Lee Creighton and Loyd "Preacher" and Emma Savell; and mother-in-law Marguerite O'Bannon. Kelby never recovered from the loss of his mother and Lori Ann. If ever a person has died of a broken heart, it was Kelby. His heart is no longer broken and he is at peace on the other side of heaven. Family and friends are comforted in knowing that he is with Jesus and his worn body is healed.

He is survived by his father Freeman Savell and wife Christy of Stonewall, LA; his sister and keeper, Becky Savell Heard and friend Shane of Many, LA; his nieces Ashlee Anderson of Austin, TX; Paige Heard of Many, LA; nephew Kaleb Anderson and wife Grace of Theodore AL; Special friends Shelia Flores and Tony Ray and Holly Ivy.

Kelby is loved by everyone who truly knew him and will be greatly missed by all.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers include Kaleb Anderson, Gary DuBose, Tony Ray Ivy, Doug Creighton, Brian Creighton, Herbert Morgan. Honorary pallbearers will be Ashlee Anderson and Paige Heard

Rest in peace...."Kelbo"
