A service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Martha LaVerne (Ryland) Middleton, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 13, 2021 at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home, Natchitoches, LA followed by burial at Weaver Cemetery in Flora, LA. LaVerne’s nephew Rick Middleton will preside over the ceremony. The family will receive visitors from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on the 13th at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home. LaVerne is survived by her son, Robert B. Middleton and wife Daina of Bend, OR; daughter, Lynne (Middleton) Sepulvado and husband Joe of Leavenworth, KS; grandchildren, MAJ Walter J. Sepulvado, Jr. (Joey) and wife Molly of Springfield, VA, Stacy L. (Sepulvado) Kent and husband Daniel of Lansing, KS, Brett Middleton and wife Vanessa of New Brighton, MN, Mesa (Middleton) Stevens and husband Jarrod of Bowling Green, KY and Kenyon Middleton of Bend, OR; and nine great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Robert B. Middleton, Jr.; parents Harris W. and Rena (Wiley) Ryland, and sister Wilda (Ryland) Cripps. Those honored to serve as pallbearers include Joey Sepulvado, Brett Middleton, Ronnie Cripps, Daniel Kent, Kenny Kaufman, Robert Middleton, and Honorary pallbearer, Harold Oldham. LaVerne (89), was born June 15, 1932 to Harris W. And Rena (Wiley) Ryland in Effie, LA. She graduated from the Alexandria Business College and went on to work for many years as a legal secretary and office assistant in Alexandria and Natchitoches, LA. LaVerne was a longtime resident of Natchitoches, LA, before moving to Leavenworth, KS in 1998 with her husband (Robert), to be close to their daughter and grandchildren. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Natchitoches, LA and then Calvary Baptist in Leavenworth, KS. She passed away November 4, 2021 at Twin Oaks Nursing Home in Leavenworth, KS surrounded by loving family members and her nurses/caregivers. The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to all the doctors, nurses, caregivers, friends and family for their selfless acts of kindness and support.
